The Chronic Disease Program of the Vanderburgh County Health Department offers free blood pressure checks. The sites are McDonald's, 20 N. Main St., 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. today; Schnucks, 4600 Washington Ave., 10:30 a.m. to noon Tuesday; Workone, 700 E. Walnut St., 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday; and Walgreens, 710 N. St. Joseph Ave., noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

Cleveland County schools see mixed progress results (The Shelby Star)

SHELBY - For Cleveland County, word of schools' Adequate Yearly Progress is mixed. Preliminary numbers from the state's Department of Instruction show that 15 out of 28 Cleveland County schools have met their AYP targets for the 2006-2007 school year, according to the No Child Left Behind Act.
